Metal at Home

I write with fire. I paint with fire. I need my art to have no boundaries, and welding gives me a way to create art that other media never could. My art is imperfect. Because perfection is boring, and welding is just … the coolest thing ever. Sparks fly, metal yields, forms that only existed in my imagination come to life under the heat of a plasma torch. Welding wire transforms from solid to liquid and ultimately to the connective tissue of a living thing.

Metalwork is a portal to my Zen. I was always attracted to things you put together and take apart, and I learned a little here and there through working on house projects, but metal just feels good. Like with plasma cutting, you’re just following a line and focusing and you reach that little quiet spot.
